We have eaten here a number of times and never had anything but top notch meals. A favorite is the Thursday night, chef's choice, family style dinner. It is a great price, great setting and as noted, excellent food. The issues I have had here are consistently service based. a. No wine list given to the table without specific request.... More

The folks at Sanders were great! Friendly and welcoming, we did the tasting and bought four bottles (our usual is one). Can't wait to go back and try the restaurant (Big Woods)! Will also try out rhe zip line aa well. Don't be in too much of a rush ans walk down to the pond and feed the fish from... More

Such a beautiful landscape and facility. Bluegrass musicians in the background. Plenty of food served family style to your group included buttermilk fried chicken, corn, greens, mashed potatoes and gravy, and chocolate strawberry shortcake for dessert. Not to mention plenty of wine to try. Very friendly, and immediately offered wine tasting right in the door. More

We had a great experience here and loved everything we ordered. We were expecting a more upscale menu, but were happily surprised with a more soup/sandwich type of experience. Everything was fresh and prepared perfectly. Huge portions also. We will definately go back! More

We were told great things about this restaurant. In fact, we had been for a wine tasting before and promised to go back to the restaurant. The fried asparagus app was GREAT! However, the crab cake sandwich was so overloaded with seasonings that we could not eat it. The waitress was also not friendly at all. So we didnt want... More

They were a new winery when we visited but were making some serious wines but were still working on their variety. Need to go back More

Chef Star is fantastic, the staff is well trained, friendly and work very well together. Much of the food is grown organically on the vineyard/farm and in the greenhouse on site and is fresh and wonderful. We have eaten here dozens of times and have never had a bad dish...or even less than a fabulous dish! Try the filet if... More

How can I begin to describe a location that is a cross between a vineyard, a winery, and a gorgeous mountain lodge? It would take awhile really, but suffice to say that if you haven't visited Sanders Ridge Winery in Boonville, NC, you better make it a future visit destination. We first discovered the Sanders Ridge Winery back in 2009... More

The Big Wood burger was topped with applewood smoked bacon, fried green tomato and Chef Starr's special pimento cheese....and it was fabulous! The BBQ, Brie and Bacon chicken sandwich was equally as impressive. We both LOVED our selections and neither of us would have thought that a sandwich would have been our choice for the evening! The Chardonnal topped things... More

After seeing Big Woods Restaurant featured on PBS - NC Weekend, we had to try it. We went for the food (might return for a wine tasting sometime) and we were extremely pleased. Fried green tomatoes and black bean and corn soup for starters were an absolute delight in every bite; BBQ Bacon, Brie & Chicken Sandwich and Crabcake Sandwich... More
