Easy to get to by car. Educational signage on site. The boardwalk over the water and Stromatolites allowed for up close inspection. Water is so beautiful and clean.
Unlike visiting the in-laws, this visit is mind blowing. Stromatolites are the bacteria that enriched the earth's atmosphere with oxygen some 3.5 billion years ago, making lifer as we see it possible. This is 1 of only 2 places in the world where they still live. Really cool!
Great stop en route and opportunity to learn about the stromatolites, our little oxygen-generating friends. Boardwalk and signage take you on an historical trip and provide fantastic views over the water. There are walking paths, too.

A nice spot and great way to find out about why this area is so special. There is also... More

They grow incredibly slowly and it is a miracle that a living colony has survived some 3.5billion years and that we can now look at a fundamental building block of life on earth. There is a boardwalk going out... More

It was really what I had expected from a caravan park in the middle of nowhere in Australia. We enjoyed taking pictures around the antique objects. You can even... More
