My wife and I had the chance to visit the park during a 2 day snow storm in April. We were running out of things to do, and too the short drive from Ellicottville. The park is accessible from three sides, but our GPS used the East Pennsylvania side. Not a great choice, considering that you enter from a residential... More

This is a very beautiful area. Lots to do: biking, hiking, walking, boating, sight seeing. Lots of animals and camping possibilities. More

Redhouse is the exit to visit the State Park. We actually take our horses into the park as they have MANY marked horse trails! It is gorgeous there....... They have a few tie stalls and water, but no electricity if you are going to camp with your horse. More

We went to the National Park in Salamanca, NY (Red House) - it was very nice for the nature lover. There is a big lake where you can fish, swim or rent paddle boats. We even saw deer running around. Nice place and doesn't cost alot of money for a family. Be aware though, there is a $10 charge to... More

My friend and I stayed in a cabin in Allegany State Park for 3 nights. Most of the cabins are in need of repair and cleaning. Our cabin had lots of chipping paint on the outside as did the rest of the cabins on the loop (Sugarbush). A few loops have been redone and they are nice. My friend found... More

My family vacations near Kinzua Dam a few weekends every summer. We absolutely love it here! To us, this is the closest you can some to an Adirondak-like vacation without having to drive 6 to 8 hours. We live in Buffalo, NY and it takes us just over 2 hours to get to Kinzua. We take a boat and spend... More

First off, Allegany State Park is gorgeous! It has two lake areas called Red House and Quaker and is surrounded by green mountains in the summer and colorful foliage in the fall. There are several hiking and cycling trails through the forest. You never know what you will see either, I've seen all kinds of animals while in ASP. The... More

We spent a week on the Weller Trail. Cabins are very rustic, but have electricity. Ours was a one-room with gas stove, full sized refrigerator, wood stove, four single beds, and picnic table with benches. The Weller Trail has flush toilets and two shower rooms. Cabins are spaced nicely, so you're not too close to your neighbors. There is lots... More
