I like to go all year round to visit Highland Park, as each season brings something new to enjoy. Annual festival is laughable....the trees the main attraction and usually not flowering during the event. Small city amusement if you can call it that. Not worth the visit. More

Have enjoyed the beautiful lilacs and other spring plants when in bloom since childhood. We do however try to go either before or just after the festival. It spoils the natural beauty of the park-too commercial and crowded. There are paved pathways. Also make sure to visit the Vietman Veterans Memoiral walk while at the park. More
