My husband and I knew before we went to the Omega institute that a lot of folks here said it was a con with small rooms and high prices. For that reason we rented a guest house elsewhere and felt clever. The workshop we took turned out to be very different from advertised and they were completely unwilling to refund... More
I recently spent a weekend at Omega. Flew from Toronto to Newark - rented at car and drove. Could not stay on the premises as it was fully booked. It was the Brian Weiss weekend so it was packed. Not a problem. Everything went very smoothly. Unfortunately it took me until Sunday to feel relaxed and it was time to... More
I spent 5 days at Omega this summer. I went for a retreat on health/nutrition/wellness. I should say upfront that I commuted daily to and from Omega. I wanted to stay on campus but there were no more single dorms when I booked. I was told I could either bring a tent (not my thing!) or share with a stranger... More
Imagine an area where you can sit in a garden or a cafe without someone talking on the phone, no newspapers, television or radios and people actually talk to each other even those they have not met before. Accomodation is modest but very comfortable and the food whilst vegetarian was very good.
Recently I visited Omega for the first time to attend a spiritual development workshop. The campus is really lovely and well-maintained. Although I am not a vegetarian, I did find adequate food choices and the food was nicely prepared and fresh. I especially enjoyed meditating down by the lake as it was so calm and peaceful. My workshop was of... More
Omega is a great place to try something new or just relax. I attended a seminar with my son to have some quality time together. It was an amazing weekend. The food served in the dinning hall was the best that we have eaten in a long time. Truly fabulous. Can't wait to go back.
I went to see Pema Choldren here and it was overall a wonderful experience and was transformative. (Although next time I would stay in a local hotel instead of the dorms). Omega is located in a very rural area and the grounds were very nice - a bit like going to camp. The schedule is arranged well and gave enough... More
I commuted to the workshop I attended, so can't speak to sleeping accommodations. Food was tasty and healthy vegan fare; common spaces were clean and comfortable. The bookstore and cafe are nice for between-times. They run an amazingly efficient operation from what I could see. Omega staff were friendly and helpful.
Omega offers a wide range of "mostly" new-age type programs, from week-long to weekend length. the campus is beautifully situated on a small lake - swimming and boating available. Vegetarian meals are varied and delicious. Accommodations are plain but comfortable. this is a great place for either a relaxing sojourn or a challenging course.
