We love historic places. This was once the home of Samuel Morse. This large estate is now a museum and a event venue. The museum holds the paintings and invention history of Samuel Morse as well as other artists. The house has been preserved as used by the Young family, the last residents of the home. The grounds are beautiful,... More

Love the trails and the views. The house is interesting -- ad the tours are really insightful. Once, because we were a group of engineers and had questions about the fuse box, we were tracing the electrical lines through the basement! More

We are caterers, so I haven't attended a wedding here - but I've catered them! Fabulous rooms and grounds - beautiful kitchen and facilities - lovely people who run the place. Highly recommended. More

Our guide has very informative, but was rushed by her manager to complete our tour. I would go again, in hopes of having her again. More

Samual Morse, artist, invented telecommunications. He also renovated the house. Much of his touch is still present. One of the great American innovators is lauded here. Bonus: great walking trails within view of the Hudson. More

Locust Grove is Samuel B. Morse's house and is located on the Hudson River. The site includes an event building but behind it is the original Victorian Era House, outbuildings and grounds. It is really a beautiful place to spend an afternoon either walking the grounds or taking a tour of the mansion. It is often overlooked in favor of... More

We held our daughter's wedding at Locust Grove - the gardens and grounds were a romantic and beautiful setting for the ceremony - the main house and distant views of the Hudson River were the perfect backdrop for photos! You totally forget you are off Route 9! The staff is welcoming and friendly - very easy to work with -... More

The house is uniquely shaped with a Tuscan like themed tower with octagonal rooms. After Morse's death the house was purchased in 1901 by the Young family and was lived in till 1975 by that family.
