This trek is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared to sweat because it takes some endurance to navigate the trails. But the view makes it worthwhile.

Walking by the river is so amazing. This hike is not for most people as it does require alot of stair climbing. So worth the hike.
Just walking all the way down and looking up. The name makes sense because you have to go way down to see the water. Love it and it is free. One of the best natural spots to go to near Niagara Falls. Bring your hiking shoes and water..
This was a fun stop for us - we are really into hiking and being outdoors so we really tried to take advantage of a lot of the parks with hiking trails, etc. I would recommend this park especially if you want to get as much of the river as possible. Fun to watch the whirlpools and rapids from this...

Travelers to Niagara Falls NY should really take a few extra minutes and drive up the Robert Moses expressway to this little-known natural anomaly. The hike in the gorge is GORGEOUS (pun intended and not)....especially in the fall. And where else on earth can you watch a class five rapids rush into a perpetual whirlpool? Very much worth the small...

If you go to the Whirlpool State Park then you might as well go to Devil's Hole as well. Here there is also a great view of Ontario and the beautiful teal blue water of the falls.
A good hike but you have to be careful, one wrong step off the trail and you plummet into the gorge.
This park is on the U.S. side and provides great views of the Whirlpool rapids and the Niagara River. We really appreciated the force of the river. Canada is on the opposite side of the park. The park has a trail that is connected to an adjacent park. Great picinic spot. I believe this park also has geology tours.
I just did a quick walk in the park, didn't have time to go down the gorge trails, but amazing views of the rapids. I'll be back!
Happened across this was heading to Niagara, nice, self-sufficient park with spots for picnics, there are restrooms, and nice paths to wander..............and the view!
