It is said to be bottomless and many weird things have happened in and around this lake. So, I do not advise swimming in it, but it makes for a great mystery tour stop.

A drive around the lake is always a must. Have you tried to find the Old Indian Burrial ground. Its not that easy but worth the hunt. People still leave stones and other markers on the graves.

Nice to bike or hike around. Cluster of restaurants where the Lake meets the LI Sound, which were OK mostly because of the location.

We have anchored in there a few times. Very pretty & can walk to Montauk Lighthouse from there - about 3 miles each way but an easy walk.
