Wonderful for couples or families alike to hike, backpack, snow shoe or other sports that winter allows. Nice falls and hiking trails clearly marked. Another of Ithaca's natural wonders.
The waterfall is beautiful and swimming is great. The scenery is fantastic. Have a picnic then go hiking the hilly trail around the creek. The trail loops but is steep with some beautiful scenic spots along the way. It is used heavily, many steps, and follows the creek up one side, cross the creek and back down the other side.... More
I grew up in the area and have always enjoyed this park. It is a NY State park, so there is a charge for vehicles to enter during the warm seasons. The lower part (near Ithaca) offers swimming, hiking, playgrounds, and camping. During the peak season, it can get quite crowded at the swimming area. The upper park (in Enfield) offers... More
It is such a wonderful experience to visit both lower and upper Treman park. I have lived here for 20 years now and I never tire of Treman Park. Swimming in the lower park right under the falls is such a thrill. Walking the upper park is a treat for the eyes and the soul. You get to experience the... More
It is a beautiful walk, serene, the gorges are breathtaking. When I was in Maui years ago I remember remarking that many of those waterfalls reminded me of Terman Park. It is a walk that is true but you can turn around at any point and just go back. but great exercise for those who want that. We live within... More
Make sure you do both entrances to Treman. The lower entrance is an easy walk to the falls and would be an amazing place to take a dip on a hot summer day. The upper entrance is a bit of a hike, but the falls are beautiful and you can walk all the way around them.
A beautiful area to walk to the falls. Be prepared though to climb up and down either a long zig-zag staircase or steep grade to see the beautiful falls. Definitely worth it. We ( my husband, 17 year old and dog did this short hike. I have bad knees but could still do it with minor discomfort. We parked at... More
We stayed for 4 nights. The sites were not too bad, and the trails were nice too, but some spot are to narrow and dangerous. The showers were horrible, not hot enough. The ticks was our most concern, and we don't return.
My husband and I visited 4 parks in NY State this past week and this one was our least favorite. It is a pretty park, complete with the payoff waterfall...but other than that...nothing much else in the way of excitement. One of the sides of the rim trail was closed so we had to go one way and return back... More
The series of waterfalls one encounters following the trail that runs the length of this park are really beautiful, so if one is into photography like me, this is the perfect outing. The actual trails are quite demanding if one is going to do the entire trek. I would recommend starting it in the uphill direction (ie from the lower... More
