The plantations are a must see at Cornell University. They are so underrated, and many students glance over the fact that we have acres and acres of greenery for our private enjoyment. More

Everything in the previous review is dead on; a great summary of the place. I would only add that in recent years, whoever is in charge of the plantings has a genuine passion for botanical diversity. Cornell Plantations isn't only for gardeners or would-be gardeners; hikers, naturalists, birders, photographers, artists and general outdoorsy types will enjoy it too. There are walkways and trails connecting 14 botanical collections, including gardens of: rhododendron, wildflowers, poisonous plants, heritage vegetables, rock plants, ground covers, shrubs, decorative arts flowers, peonies, crops and even weeds!
