This is the place to come to if you want to learn all about glass. It not only gives you a history of this product but how it is made. It has numerous displays and interact venues that will be of interest to all age groups. No wondering Corning makes it products in this town. In the admissions part of... More

We'd heard some wonderful things about the Corning Glass museum and felt it was a must on our week-long trip from Michigan into New York State where our desitination was Hyde Park. We're very glad we went a bit out of the way to visit Corning and the musem. We were amazed at some of the beautiful glass creations on... More

I expected something different. I'm not sure what exactly. The live shows were interesting, but all 4 only take an hour total. I enjoyed making the glass ornaments, but unless you make the flower (which I think is ugly), you're not getting much of a hands-on experience. The rest of the museum is part art/part flea market/part children's field trip.... More

We stopped in Corning on our way to Toronto. We enjoyed all the exhibits and hands on learning. Live shows feature different glassworking and workshops that allow you to make your own glass pieces. Be sure to arrive early so that you can enjoy all that is offered. Great for a family trip or glass enthusiast. The town itself was... More

Visited this on our way to DC with 4 kids, everyone loved it. The museum is very modern with lots to do and see. The demonstrations were very good and recommended. The kids also signed up for glass blowing to make ornaments (extra fee) but also recommended. Museum restaurant is great and a nice change from the usual junk food. More

The parking was free. Published adult admission price is $15, but the "usual" discounts will easily lower your cost to $12.75. Be advised that there is a "local resident" discount that brings the cost down to $6! Kids get in for free!!!! Open 361 days per year!!! The building and all the exhibits are flawless! Make sure you see the... More

If you have never seen glass being made, this is magical. Watching the fabulous craftsmen at Corning is a riveting experience as a lump of stuff becomes a magnificent vase or glass with wonderful colors and shapes. The museum also exhibits a variety of glass artistry and there is a great gift shop. More

As well as a very interesting museum, the CMOG also lets visitors blow or do lamp work in the workshop area for a fee. The gift shop is a museum in itself- plan on 45 minutes just to walk thru the gift shop. More
