We had a picture perfect day and after walking around the Cooperstown village, we headed the 8 miles north to the Park for a hike. This was our first visit to the Park and we wanted to do the 2 mile Sleeping Lion hike. It had a 500 ft elevation gain and it was a fantastic hike - just right... More

What a beautiful place. Walked to the covered bridge and the beaver pond. They have plenty of places to go. More

We went here to go hiking but found there isn't much hiking. It is mostly cross-country skiing paths but it makes for a nice easy hike/nature walk. More

While I live fairly close to this great state park, I avoided it for a long time in favor of another state park which is close to my home. A few years ago, though, I finally spent a bit of time at Glimmerglass. Since then, I have returned many times. There are great hiking trails, a historic covered bridge, a... More

A gorgeous location for picnics, hiking, and history. There is a beach with swimming facilties and picnic areas all around. You can have as much or as little privacy as you desire. There is also a 19th century mansion on the grounds that can be toured for a small extra fee. Very highly recommended. More

We spent a few days at Glimmerglass Park over the summer and it is really a beautiful park ($7.00 entry/parking fee). We tend to go earlier in the day, bbq our lunch and then take off before the crowd. It is not a very crowded park, but the beach area fills up quickly since there is a lifeguard and a... More

Surprisingly good food concession. Nice lake with roped off swimming area for kids. Hiking trails through meadows and woods, with oldest remaining covered bridge (in US ?). Short drive from Cooperstown (10 minutes). We biked there from C-town in 1 hour (hilly). Parking fee More

I camped at Glimmerglass for one week recently with hubby and kids (9,12) this is a great campground. Beautiful sites, plenty of water spigots and clean (although somewhat crowded) bathhouse. The lake was beautiful and well guarded and numerous ponds and streams dotted the park (which my kids loved exploring). Helpful rangers and campground store/snack bar by the beach also... More

I had my granchildren ages 13 and 4. We went to spend the day. If you go take a sand pail to play with on the beach. You can't take any toys in the water, no balls, no swim mask, nothing, won't go back. More
