This place was unopened and was ugly from the outside. They have made it difficult to get to and not worth the trip. More

Its just a beautiful old mansion situated at Glimmerglass State Park north of Cooperstown. Make a half day of it and hike some trails, see the old covered bridge and more! More

Hyde Hall is a fantastic look into the past. I've lived within an hour's drive of this mansion for the past 25 years, yet I just learned about it a few years ago. It was built in the early 1800's and when the original owners gave it up, it fell into disrepair and was almost torn down before a group... More

When we were in Cooperstown for grandson's Dreams Park experience, we were looking for other family things to see and do to besides baseball. By accident we found out about Hyde Hall and visited there. The lady who gave us the tour made a point of including the children in pointing out the interesting features and history of the Hall.... We had an enthusiastic guide who explained the rather confusing and long history of this home. All I can say is FDR and TR were there, go find out why, if you are in the area and a history buff. Surrounded by a nice park where kids are swimming. We biked there, a day trip, and stopped for the 1... More

Hyde Hall is captivating, enchanting and well worth a visit - step back in time away fom the tourist crowds. A perfect setting for romance novel - indeed - just that the stories of generations who lived here through changing times are true! The restoration efforts, painstakingly detailed, are an example to be appreciated. A visit maybe in conjunction with... More

My 9 year old saw the brochure at our motel and said "I'm going!" We showed up early for the 9 am opening and walked around the lawn and enjoyed the wonderful views. No one else showed up for the first tour so we had the tour guide all to ourselves. Very impressive. Not alot of furnishings, as restoration still... More

The manison is fabulous, views alone worth the price of admission. The tour guide was perfection. Not"packaged" or tourist-y at all. A wonderful afternoon! More
