I would recommend cooler weather for this because the wolves might not be too active in the heat. It's safe and informational. Have on sturdy footwear if you plan on taking trails to return down the mountain. I really didn't dislike anything about it. I was very impressed with our guides.

These animals are beautiful to watch, and our "guide" was informative. Was a great visit for me and my husband, would like to bring my daughters sometime.

I am not sure exactly when we were there.. My son had a camp site not too far away and he, my grand-daughter and I went to Lakota.. I enjoyed it very much. Walking up the hills were a little taxing but worth it not only for the wolves but all the other animals. I learned so much . This... More

The owners insist you must arrive by 10 am. I took this to mean that if you were even a minute late, you would not be allowed on the tour. This is not the case. If you are late, you will miss the beginning and obviously you will miss out on hearing the entire talk given by the owner. Apparently,... More

It was really cool and was very interactive. They let us try to make the wolfs howl by howling to them and they also feed the animals while they were showing them to us. The people were very factual. They let us ask questions and treated us to funny stories and personal experiences at the wolf preserve. Then animals were... More

This was an awesome day trip... I wasn't sure what to expect but it blew me away! The owners were incredibly knowledgable about the animals that they care for and their love for them was easily seen. Definitely suggest only taking older children because the animals get spooked with noise and small children could ruin the tour for the other... More

It was about 7 years ago that I was there last. Unique Photo than sponsored a photo trip to Lakota. This was a great experience. The tour started with a seminar on photographing wolves and then about two hours taking photos. It was great being with others photos, talking about experiences. The preserve is great at keeping the wolves within... More

This preserve is so wonderfully done. They make you understand the life and ways of the wolves. You can go online before your visit and adopt a wolf and then visit that wolf when you arrive
