Cape May Lighthouse is a must see stop. It's part of the Cape May Point State Park and one of our regular vacation stops every year. Truly one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the country. Wildlife trails allow hikers the opportunity to view shore birds, as well as view other wildlife along the shore.

Overcome your fear of heights and climb the stairs to the very top. The view is worth it. Be sure to have a jacket to help with the wind though.

While we didn't go into the lighthouse itself, we did enjoy the museum and the trails nearby. There are markers on the trails for various trees and shrubs, as well as birds; part of the trail is closed right now for nesting birds, but you can see these birds overhead and in other parts of the area. there is a great story teller in the tower! A minimal donation to enter the tower but the vast history learned is well worth it. They will share the secret of the diamond rocks washed on the shore form the upper rivers.

We visited the Lighthouse May 4th and it was very pleasurable. The top offers breathtaking views on the Atlantic coastline and is just steps away from the Cape May bird sanctuary.

This was the first lighthouse my boyfriend ever visited. It did not disappoint!! I had never climbed this one, but have climbed others. Not knowing what to expect, he was pleasantly surprised. The view was fantastic and the light keeper was very knowledgeable. We will definitely be exploring other lighthouses now!!

We walked from the dead end at Beach Ave to the lighthouse. We didn't plan on going to the lighthouse, but it was within view so we decided to do it. Beware: bring your shoes!
