Great for taking pictures, walking and picnic time. This whole area is nice to roam around and see the shops and sights.

We frequent this place very often. The flower gardens in late summer at spectacular. Free concerts in the summer and plays for a donation, bring a picnic. So much to do, so much to see. love this place
Not anything special in the winter (except that it's on the Piscataqua River with scenic views) but in the spring/summer, the flowers are incredible. Beautifully laid out beds. Definitely worth seeing while you're in Portsmouth
The park is quite large for a smaller city like Portsmouth. It's right on the water, and you can sit on benches and check out boats, people fishing and just take in the views.
Depending on what's going on, you can see the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter across the river, which I think is pretty cool to see.

Perfect place to have lunch when in Portsmouth. Lively (always something going on), beautiful with trees and tulips everywhere and a great view of the Piscataqua River and Kittery across the water...and just a block or two from downtown. Grab a Moe's Grinder on Daniel Street and wander down to the park and sit on a bench and enjoy the...

Located on the shores of the Piscataqua River, in the shadow of the New Memorial Bridge (summer 2013), the park offers music, stage performances, or a place to just stroll and unwind.
I love this park. It is easy to lose track of time if you come to Prescott Park in the spring or summer. There is a profusion of colorful flowers, the relaxing sound of water fountains, shady trees, and plenty of benches along paved walkways. Bring a picnic and spend the day. In the summer there is music as well...

This favorite tourist spot in New Hampshire was once a gorgeous setting, but in recent years has been neglected. The gardens appear to be not as well maintained and notably fewer species offerings. Seems to be an awful lot of trash on the grounds leftover from the busy pedestrian activity and plays or functions. Located opposite historic Strawbery Banke, the...

We used to live in Portsmouth and spent many an afternoon enjoying a stroll through the park, admiring the flowers and just being near the water. We also enjoyed the concerts and other special events they'd have in the park. As others have said, it's an easy walk from downtown. If you're visiting Strawberry Banke, the colonial part, it's just...

Beautiful, well kept park. The flowers were abundant and the colors were vibrant. The waterfountains and pathways gave this park a welcoming feeling. Very enjoyable and relaxing.
