Have a great day exploring the hidden treasures along the path of the Lost River. Located in the heart of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, this is a great spot to spend the day with family and friends. Nice gift shop too. Very busy in the summer obviously. Stay nearby in North Woodstock, or Woodstock, or Lincoln, NH and... More

Absolutely gorgeous. The many steps are laid out so comfortably that you do not need to be a super athlete or mountain goat. Very safe and so much to see. If you are not a cave lover it doesn't matter--the gorge alone is worth the visit. More

Wear your play clothes and get ready to climb through some really cool boulder caves. Takes about 2 hours - take your time! So fun! I'm over 40 and I had a blast squeeeeezing through all of the different caves. Made me feel like a kid again.... We went to the Flume and it was PACKED. We went to the... More

Anyone love hiking, waterfalls, staircases that twist in all directions, hidden passageways (optional detours from main path, for the adventurous and flexible)...you'll love the Lost River Gorge. I had no idea how incredible it would be and words really don't do it justice. I'm 45 years old and I became a kid again..I tried every secret passageway (loved the "Lemon... More

You really go there are get lost in the dense woods and the "it was right here where did it go?" river. Not a very popular spot and thankfully so. The landscape formed by the large stone or boulders has given way to many a caves which are equal fun for people of all age groups. some of them as... More

I visited in June with a friend and it was just breathtakingly beautiful. We happened to visit on an overcast, drizzly day but the weather was actually a plus because there was hardly anyone else there. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. Now, although neither one of us is an athlete or anywhere near being in the... More

We enjoyed Lost river, but found it to be better suited for youngsters due to all the narrow access to and through the many caves. We went to the Flume Gorge in Franconia State Park earlier that day and found it more appealing. That being said if you are the area and especially if you have some children to entertain... More

Our group went on a rainy July day. We ranged in age from 4 years old to 75. You descend down lots of stairs and then you get down to this rushing creek making its way over and around giant boulders. Then you start heading up. Every now and then you are invited to go into a cavern. I was... More
