Went on the Santa Clause express. Was very enjoyable and scenic. every child got a little gift from santa, also had cookies and milk.
Last week-end me and my wife have taken the little tour of 55 minutes in the Coach class wagon. Train and wagon are clean , old and well conserved , for this part it's perfect , a little ride in the past , but for the scenic of the name , a ride in the wood and looking in the... More
We're glad that this reviewer appreciates our preservation efforts to maintain this piece of New Hampshire history and that he enjoyed his old-fashioned railroading experience here. As I continue to remind readers, the North Conway area has changed significantly in the (almost) 40 years since Conway Scenic Railroad began operations. All trains leave from the center of North Conway Village,... More
The Conway Scenic Railroad offers trips from North Conway, south to Conway Village and a number of different length trips North up into Crawford Notch and Bartlett NH. The schedule varies throughout the year and is much more limited in the winter months. The winter months tend to be based around special attraction events like Santa's Winter Train and The... More
We opted to do the Conway Scenic Railroad on a recent trip to the Conway area and were disappointed. I would hardly call the train ride scenic. Traveking through the woods and backyards was not what we had expected. Was not worth what we paid.
I've written to this reviewer but have not received a response to date. I'm not sure which of our Valley excursions was taken, but all of our trains depart from the middle of North Conway Village. Development is going to be seen going in either direction, much more so than when the Railroad began operating almost 40 years ago. We... More
Stopped by the Cider Mill on the way back and the kids got to choose a small pumpkin. The line for service in the Cider Mill was long but to be expected with a train full of people clamouring for service. The cider was excellent and worth the wait! The boys enjoyed the donuts, too! The ride was great and... More
We rode on the train called the Gertrude Emma which was my wife's mothers name it was a plesant ride that took us through beautiful scenery and over the Frankenstein trestle . We stopped at a place to buy food , drinks and souviners then returned to the station all and all a plesant couple of hours
If you're in North Conway for the Autumn colors, this train ride is a beautiful addition to your agenda. The trains and cars are historic, and the countryside is beautiful. I probably wouldn't do this on any other vacation except for autumn foliage...but it's worth the ride at least once. Be sure to bring your camera!
My wife and I took a ride on the Conway Railroad and although it does go through a lot of forest areas it still has some fantastic views especially in the fall season. The kids will love it but on this trip it was just the two of us, we loved it as well.
My husband and I took a 5-1/2 hour ride on the Crawford Notch. We rode first class and had lunch on the train. We went the first week of October which was at or close to peak season for leaf color. We found there was both good and bad to be found in the experience. The GOOD - - The... More
It was a nice slow ride but I was disappointed in the actual amount of scenery or excitement/ engagement that it actually offered. This was a trip that my girlfriend and I had planned on doing for quite some time and was also on my "bucket list" for pretty much as long as I can remember. I have been on... More
