Here at the Science Center, we house and exhibit many different wild animals, including river otters, mountain lions, bobcats, deer, bears, birds, foxes, and skunks. The wild animals at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center are ambassadors of their species, here for the purpose of educating our visitors about New Hampshire's natural world. Most are orphaned, injured, or otherwise unable to survive in the wild. Observing these animals up-close, together with experiencing our hands-on exhibits, offers visitors the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of our native wildlife and appreciation of the natural world. « less

It was not like a lot of zoo's the we have visited, this one is set out so the animals have large rugged areas in which to roam, very much like their natural habitat. Very informative and reasonably priced . More

As stewards of the environment, they display New Hampshire's native animals with care. One trip around the trails will let you know more about nature and it's inhabitantsthan you'd expect. Interesting for all ages. More

Really worth taking time out to take the boat trip round Squam Lake. The guides know their stuff and its an interesting trip that is timed just right. You get time to look at the scenery and also take photos. We got one of the resident bald eagle! More

Our Science Center Lake Cruises are quite popular, particularly with the fall foliage. That's wonderful that you were able to see the Bald Eagles. I hope you spotted some Loons as well! I had a few hours to kill on a business trip so i decided to go visit. Very glad that I did. It's very reasonably priced and very informative. The animals are kept in as natural a state as possible and you get to see them quite closely. There are informative lectures on a frequent schedule and I attended a... More

If you like nature you will love it here. This is very educational and set up for young children but us coming from Ireland, we learnt a lot and had a great morning. It is a pleasant walk through the woods. The staff are FANTASTIC and so patient while giving talks on the animals. We didn't try out the food... More

They have taken a forested watershed and put enclosures on it to create a very natural looking zoo of North American animals. The animals have all been injured or come into contact with humans and therefore cannot be rehabilitated into the wild. It was nice to see these animals as typical zoos often focus on elephants and tigers etc,. They... More
