This museum is typical of the rest of this tourist town. Interesting to look at, but a little rough around the edges and dated. Has some good information on the history, but is showing it's age. It's worth a stop in while in town.

Our eleven year old daughter loved this museum and was disappointed that we couldn't stay longer. Our younger kids liked it but not as much. I enjoyed the dolls dressed in dresses from the time. Anyone interested in mining will definitely enjoy this stop.

This museum had exhibits on the mining history of the area, and quite a collection of antique medicines, and dolls outfitted with authentic outfits from the 1800's. Very enjoyable.

The owners of the motel we stayed in suggested we start our tour of Virginia City here. They were right! The museum includes artifacts from the Comstock bonanza days, photos and biographies of the some of the key players, and a series of videos explaining how things were in the Old West.
