The drive alone from Carson City was beautiful. Steep, winding mountain roads and breathtaking scenery. The kids enjoyed riding in the trolley and the information was very interesting. The guide, however, was less than entertaining and almost seemed irritated that he had to do another tour - not too friendly. But we were able to ignore his unfriendliness and enjoy the tour in spite of him. I would definitely recommend taking this tour before visiting...

I suggest you take this tour before walking the town. It provides the history of the place and shows you attractions on side streets you might otherwise miss. Sit close if have hearing problem. Have camera out. Take notes of where to walk to after the ride. Very helpful driver. A must do if visiting Virginia City.
