Go enjoy the quiet beauty and charm of this State Park with friends, family, or even by yourself!  It's only about 20minutes from the strip, located on I-159W, 2mi AFTER the Red Rock Canyon Entrance. [http://parks.nv.gov/parks/spring-mountain-ranch-state-park/] This medium size park/historical museum is surrounded by the magnificent mountain ranges of Red Rock Canyon!  It has a gorgeous pond, around it are several... The house at Spring Mountain Ranch had an incredible history of evolving from a small cabin to a rambling building, owned by ranchers and movie stars. Indoor and outdoor tours given by docents "made the day" for us. There are several picnic tables, and a wealth of history. More

This is a really neat place to go if you are visiting Las Vegas and want to get away from the casinos and strip for a while. Head a couple of miles down the road to Spring Mountain Ranch, operated by Nevada state parks. Admission per car is $9 which includes your entrance to the 3000 square foot ranch house. Interesting history with a Hollywood twist is outlined in ten minute video. Ranch was once owned by Howard Hughes. Good place to have a picnic lunch and... More

The park is a wonderful retreat on a hot day. Lots of trees and up near the mountains on the west. We enjoyed walking the grounds, and touring the homes on the property (an old homestead and the more modern house with interesting design elements and Hollywood connection.) More
