A short hike from the car park brings you to a beautiful lake with warm shallow water. Make sure you carry on to the second lake as this is nicer and there is a small store and boats can be hired here. Be sure to have $7 in change for the carpark which is unmanned. I love Tahoe. I love Fallen leaf lake. But Angora..? I dont like it. Its beautiful, but theres something really wrong with it. I dont know if its something in the water or what, but its like you just stepped into another country..or the twilight zone. It scares me. I will never go back. More

A great place to start is at the desolation trailhead at Fallen Leaf lake. It is a relatively easy hike through some beautiful terrain to the first of the lakes. Once there you can sit and read, have lunch or continue on to another one. Its so beautiful and the perfect way to spend an afternoon with your friends, family... More

Angora Lakes is a beautiful place to go and see. It is meant for the whole family. It isnt that hard of a hike, but it is worth it! When you get there you can swim, relax, and you can go into the general store and look around and maybe even treat you to a special something to eat. Oh... More
