Mount Helena is a great city park with may different levels of hiking trails for you and your favorite 4 legged friend. Trails are open year round (I think) and I've never done night hiking but it could be really fun. It's a great way to get exercise in our backyard.

Mount Helena is a great place to go hiking, with it's wide variety of trails ranging in difficulty from easy to difficult.You could spend anywhere from an hour to several on or around Mount Helena depending on what trail(s) you take.

Ran the Mountain on several occasions throughout my 2 week visit to Helena. Certain trails are more difficult than others. I believe I took the Prairie Trail to the Summit. Having recently completed a half marathon in VA, the altitude and incline did still pose a challenge.
The view was awesome at the peak. The trails were very well maintained....
