Great place on a nice day to walk the shops, stop and drink and stop and eat! Carriage rides are offered.
My husband and I just spend 2 days in historic St. Charles. We loved it and plan to be back soon. Maybe next time we'll bring our puppy. It seems like a very dog friendly place. The street is filled with local shops and many restaurants featuring all kinds of cuisine and goodies. You can easily walk from one end...

St. Charles Historic District is a great place to spend the day shopping and visiting various restaurants. There are things to see and do for everyone. In August there is a huge craft festival - at Christmas time the decorations are up and carolers are there - so festive!
The Historic District in St. Charles has become a family tradition for us during Christmas! I love the roasted chestnuts and the Christmas carolers. I love collecting cards from all the Christmas characters, like Tiny Tim and Father Time. I love the food and the decorations. If you haven't been yet, you MUST go and bring your family. The walking...

Go to the Visitor's Center on Historic Main Street and get a self-directed I-Pod tour. Excellent! The detailed descriptions of the historic street, the buildings and the architecture are fascinating, and there is nothing better than a self-pased walking tour.
Great place to stroll along tree lined street with quaint shops, lodging, and varied eateries. The people are very welcoming and the visitor center is worth a stop.
Great shops, clean, beautiful flowers, great brick road. Only thing to remember is the majority of the shops close up at 5pm. Street fair going on Sundays too in the late spring.
There is much more here than we thought. Many places to eat/drink, and lots of shops. Lots of history, as many bldgs have historical notes or plaques. Also near the riverfront. Don't miss the Lewis and Clark statues.
Lots to look at and shop for especially if one likes antiques. Wonderful walking and riding on the Katy Trail and adjoining park. Food everywhere.
