Beautiful grounds and sculptures. I really enjoyed the Egyptian section, but I was unimpressed by the photography section. I would have loved some impressionistic art. You have to pay for parking, but it was well worth the visit.

Having some time to kill before catching a flight home, decided to stop at the Nelson-Atkins to look around. Paying $5 to park underneath was the only admission fee. You walk into the Hall of Sculptures which seems to be missing sculptures. There just does not seem to be any theme to any of the rooms.
This is such a fun museum with an encyclopedic art collection. I am a big fan of art museums and this is one of my favorite. Their current display of Rodin is well curated and even has a few interactive displays.
we were there for the mother's day puppet show on the lawn. It is great they have the tiered lawn areas and the trees for shade.
This museum is very easy to navigate and is organized by time periods in art. Non-flash photography is allowed, docents are helpful, and the museum is FREE. Be sure to leave a donation-well worth it for what you will see. Huge and beautifully landscaped grounds make this a special visit for all ages.
This has long been an outstanding museum and I remember wandering through it as a child, astounded and perplexed by some of the ancient and modern art. Now that they have extended the museum with daring architecture, enlarged the already amazing outdoor sculpture park, and still managed to retain the open space and welcoming feel, this is a can't miss...

The Nelson-Atkins is a Kansas City treasure. The new wing is a beautiful exhibition space and the museum's exhibitions are always first-rate. Admission to the museum is free which enables everyone to enjoy its programs.
Constantly changing, and it attracts some great traveling exhibits. The Nelson Art Gallery is one of Kansas City's greatest residents.
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art has AMAZING displays. On my last visit I barely made it through a quarter of the museum. On a rainy day you could spend the whole day exploring the different areas of art. The photography was hands down my favorite.
