Inside the Misssouri Governor's Mansion, there are portraits of the First ladies of Missouri. My personal favorite part is the fountain outside that was commissioned when Mel Carnahan was governor. The grounds are beautiful, and the guides are both friendly and knowledgeable. More

I know a person who wrote a book about all the governor's mansions in the country. He said that the Missouri governor's mansion was among the most impressive he had ever seen. If you can take a tour, it's worth it. I went at Christmas and enjoyed the extra decorations at the time. More

Just walking in the mansion gives you a feeling of the history and the past Gov. that lived here. I love the painting of the first ladies on the walls. Would love to see upstairs, but you only get to see the first floor. More

Have to reserve tour not a good thing. A person cannot just spontaneously show up. More

An imposing, 1800s building that has a superb location overlooking the Missouri River and the State Capitol. Extensive and well maintained grounds--including the Carnahan Garden--with lovely old trees and handsome shrubs.
