I love going to Grand Avenue. I love the atmosphere, restaurants and shopping. The houses are fun to look at too. It's a great way to spend the afternoon with a friend or spouse.

over-rated, over done, overpriced. What it was years ago, it just isn't anymore, the area is worn out and surounded by the hood on three sides.

THis is the 'in' place in St. Paul. Fun shops, good food. Parking can be a minor problem, especially in winter. Well worth the trip.

Aroma's from the spice store, the coffee shop, the pizza place, sounds of conversation in 5-6 languages, the attitude of "life is good". Any chance I get, I'll run over for a bit.

Grand Avenue runs from the Irvine Park area, up the Ramsey Hill, and straight west to the Mississippi River. It's historic and eclectic - restaurants, coffee shops, retail shops, colleges, supermarkets (Kowalski's and Whole Foods), and residential segments with houses and apartments with 19th and early 20th century charm. Most of the retail lies between Dale Street on the east... More

Something for everyone, from high-end shopping and dining to unique local offerings. Definitely check out 10,000 Villages - a fair-trade, non-profit store selling imported art, crafts, jewelry, textiles etc. that benefit the people who make them.

Grand Avenue has great shopping and dining! It is a fun area to spend a day/evening! The best is Grand Old Day the first weekend of June when the street is closed and there is live music and lots of great people watching.
