This state park has a Bison herd, as well as several miles of hiking trails through the prarie. The enclosure where the Bison are kept is huge, so you may need to bring binoculars if you want to see them. The hiking trails are kept in great condition. The park has a bison herd, cacti, a rock wall of unknown (prehistoric?) origins that lines up with the Sun on the equinoxes, and a grove that is one of the few places that Monarch Butterflies stop off in their migration. The two attractions here are the bison herd and the tall grass prairie. There are some nice trails through the prairie and an observation platform for viewing the bison. An interesting stop, but there is no need to spend a long time here. More

I had a hard time finding any info about this park so decided to write this review. We spent 4 days camping there last week(June 30-July 3, 2003). It was a very nicely kept park with a small secluded beach and picnic area. the camping area was neat and clean and the shower and toilets were modern and well kept.... More
