This festival is held once a year, in June. There are usually a Munchkin or two in attendance. There are only a couple still alive. Past celebrity guests are Mickey Rooney, June Lockhart, June Allyson,and Margaret O'Brien. Last year Andy Williams entertained the crowd with clips of Judy on his TV show.

Liked all the info with the many many pictures. It was interesting that they had the actual carriage from the Emerald City scene in the Wizard of Oz. The birthplace house was very historically correct and facinating.

about Judy Garland's life. The memorabilia from both her vaudeville days, the Wizard of Oz and later career is very intriguing. The highlight for me was seeing the carriage from the Wizard of Oz movie, the one pulled by the horse of a different color.

First of all, when I tell people I travel at least once every two years to Judy Garland's birthplace in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, they are so kind to correct me and say, "You mean Grand Rapids, Michigan." No. I really don't! Judy Garland was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
