    Hiking the Kawishiwi Falls Trail
Great trip! We arrived at approximately 4 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the trail. The trail was roughly a 1 mile round trip, and moderate in difficulty. There were some steep inclines throughout the course of the trail. We were surrounded by the beautiful colors of fall as we hiked the trail. The view of the waterfall itself was breathtaking, and there were even several benches available along the trail, to sit and admire the scenery. There were also several informational plaques on the trail, giving us some background on the falls. Tip: I recommend spending 45 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.

    Went twice!
My 13yo daughter’s favorite part of our Ely trip! We went at sunset twice because she loved it so much the first time. The hike is a .8 mile loop that is fairly easy. If you want more of a challenge, you can also walk along the canoe portage the goes off in both directions from the path, leading to the lakes in either side of the falls.

    Great Local Waterfall and Hike!
You can hike to these falls in less than 30 minutes. The hike is moderate. The falls are beautiful! The scenery is beautiful. There are signs that describe the area. It is free to hike here. You learn that they also produce electricity at these falls. Would definitely come back!

Easy hike and not very long. Several spots to view the falls and the river below and above the falls. The waterfall is absolutely gorgeous. There's plenty of flat rocky places around to just sit and listen and watch. There's frogs in the rocky pools above the falls. And we even had a bald eagle circling overhead while we were there.

Worth a visit especially considering the ease of getting there.

Perfect length hike for middle aged folks, kids, dogs and those who enjoy nature and waterfalls. Can get a little bumpy with lots of rocks, roots and slopes in the hike. Older folks and those with disabilities or difficulty walking might have some trouble. The falls were beautiful and there was a bench to sit and rest once you got to the falls.

Beautiful hike! Not very long or difficult and you are rewarded with beautiful views and a waterfall! Can be a bit muddy/slippery after a rain and you just need to watch your step over rocks and exposed roots. No scrambling or climbing necessary and no big hills though a few slight inclines/declines. Just watch your footing and you will be fine. We only saw a single other couple when we were there on a Monday late morning, so it was nice. There is a bench by the falls so you can relax and watch for a bit. Beautiful woods with interesting tree root formations growing on rocks to see along the hiking trail. Very enjoyable.

This hike is very accessible to all. We had a variety of ages in our group, and all enjoyed this hike. The waterfall is beautiful and very close to Ely if you are staying there. Highly recommended.
