We traveled the North Shore Scenic Drive and it didn't have the same appeal as the first time. It appeared that several small shops either went out of business or had not opened for the season. However it was nice to see our favorite small shop was still open, Mocha Moose! More

Heading up out of Duluth we take the scenic route instead of the expressway and stop along the way for beautiful views, rocky beaches, and the delicious New Scenic Cafe. We drove all the way up to the Canadian border. We had a lot of fun stopping at all the state parks and little local shops along the way. I recommend buying an annual state park pass rather than paying each fee. My favorite was the Split Rock Light House. Would definitely go back when they were open for tours. More
