You get to ride the train, and relax for a bit. I went on the 90 minute tour i believe, it was nice because I've never been on a train and it's cool cuz you get to see how it was like to travel back in the day when it was trains that everyone took places. More

this was a good experience for children who have never ridden a train, however it is pretty slow moving, so plan for the little guys to get a bit antsy. More

The narrated train ride is delightful. Two hours in the town for lunch allows for finding a restaurant to your liking -- we chose the Vanilla Bean -- and exploring gift shops and the lighthouse. A great choice for celebrating any event or just enjoying a day on the train. More

I had reserved tickets for the Fall Color Tour months ago thinking it would be a wonderful way to end our fall trip on the shore. My husband loves trains so this was really for him. I was told to come at 10 for the 10:30 departure. At 10 the line was winding around and around all ready and parking... More

No dog on this trip. However, several of us took the short scenic ride of an hour and a half thinking we would see some nice scenery, especially Lake Superior. Other than a 5 minute glimpse of the lake, the entire ride was made up of streets on one side and tall trees on the other. The trees obscured all... More

Five of us took this dinner train. It just wasn't worth the price. Saw very little of Lake Superior, but lots of back yards. The wait staff were very friendly, and the food was OK. There are better ways to see the area. More

We took the "Elegant Dinner" train at 6:30. Celebrating our anniversary we were so excited. However, it was not exactly how it was represented on the web site. First we were herded onto the train with a huge crowd of others taking the Pizza train; then we were put into the dinner car which was not at all how it... More

My husband and I decided to do a train ride for our daughter who is five. She enjoyed herself but my husband and I lost interest after a half hour. We took the Lester River trip which was a 1 1/2, it was semi scenic but mostly a historic train ride. What was nice is we didn't have assigned seats... More

Since we have an interest in trains and train rides, we decided to go on the Lester River Train Tour out of Duluth. The scenery was very pretty and the tour operator was informative of the sights along the way. They had quite a few different cars to choose from for seating options and we chose the open air car...
