nice area to walk around. some good shopping, but could use more upscale shops. good eats and drinks and catch the vista fleet for a lake and harbor cruise.

Our hotel was right on Canal Park so we utilized it often. We brought bread to feed the birds...the kids LOVED that. We climbed on the rocks, walked the pier to the light house, walked underneath the Ariel Lift Bridge, etc. The Maritime Museum is great...lots of info to take in or not. Several little movies, lots to read, tons...

Very enchanting area - old historic buildings mixed in with the new. Great place to stroll and enjoy the outdoors or try one of the many restaurants in the area. You can jump on a boat and do a cruise or take a carriage ride via horse and buggy through the area.
An eclectic assortment of shops, hotels, and restaurants. Once an industrial area, Canal Park has been "spruced up" to the nines and really caters to the tourists. Excellent views, ample parking, and lots to do and enjoy.
This is a fun spot with views of the lake, restaurants, shops, and a museum. Lots of foot traffic and good people watching.
Canal Park is filled with something for everybody. Even though, our visits were pretty much shrouded in fog, we enjoyed the walks, the shops, the restaurants, the ships passing through... everything! If the weather had been nicer, we would have taken advantage of the pedal bikes for four, the outdoor eating, etc. I will definitely come back.
They renovated a rundown waterfront historic area into a great tourist destination. Many stores ,restaurants, and attractions within walking distance. I recommend staying at South Pier Inn by the aerial lift bridge and walking. Canal Park is safe and has a lot of things to see within walking distance. Also a good base of operations to visit the North Shore...
