At Hunter Winfields they were tell you the fishing is great. It sucks!!! didn't catch a fish in 3 days. Then when on to lake of the woods and hammered on them.

Lovely, large lake with lots to do. Visit the Waypoint Cafe at the Red Door Resort for a fabulous, well priced meal.

Lake Mille Lacs is over 20 miles from Brainerd. It's not accurate for Brainerd to claim this lake as their attraction. There are many other towns right on the lake being short-changed by this adveritsing practice. Brainerd IS a nice place to visit and Lake Mille Lacs IS a great fishing lake, but they should not be listed together.

I have heard that the fishing at the lake is very good. I have friends that fish this lake regularly and are very happy with it. It is really hugh you can not see across to the other side . A beautiful driving road goes all the way around the lake.

Lake Mille Lacs is called walleye capital of Minnesota, and they have at least a dozen fishing launches to prove it.
