Based on my friends, I was more excited to see peak fall in traverse city. After we are heading towards traverse city we see beauty of fall from dearborn towards traverse city highways. It is very good experience for us. I like to drive on roads, roads towards TC is like up and down, when we start car from top... More

Bik paths to downtown, small shops and restaurants, this park has it all. A quick trip over the bridge and you are on the beach. The park is busy but that's because people keep coming back.

No one has mentioned yet that the TCSP has a new name. In 2011 it was officially renamed the Keith J. Charters Traverse City State Park to honor a local commissioner/hunter/fisherman. But, despite the new signs, the locals still call it "the state park". The park is divided into two parts that is separated by the very busy US31: the... More

If you are lucky to get a space in the back of the park it's very beautiful and quiet. Close to bike path. TART runs for miles and miles. If you like the beach camp close to the front. But then you have the road noise.

There is a "Discovery" section where you can touch some of the exhibits. The sound wall is a must. This was designed for children, but adults will enjoy it too. Only $6.

You can walk to a depth close to shore without hitting rocks. The kids play area, public bathroom and sandy clean beach are well maintained. I can see why my father's co-worker donated to the state parks.

Good park in convenient location if you don't mind the US131 noise from the traffic going past. We just walked on the beach and enjoyed the view. It could get cleaned up a little more.

Fantastic location and friendly staff make this park our favorite in Michigan. We like several things about this park: 1) TART trail access- the trail is very convenient and you can ride it all the way to town and even further to Suttons Bay if you choose. Another nice benefit is that there are rear entrances to many amenities near... More

We have never been to a TC park before. This was a great experience and for the first time signed up for passes to the TC parks. We are older now and now wished we had come here with our children when they were younger. TC beaches are so beautiful.
