The ship was beautiful, well maintained and the staff was fun. BUT the ship literally turns in circles out in Traverse Bay. When we questioned the staff they gave us some non sensical answer. We have been on a lot of sailing excursions and enjoyed seeing the coastline and hearing about the sights on the shoreline. But on Tall Ship... More

We are happy these former guests think our ship is beautiful and well maintained, and that the staff is fun. We agree wholeheartedly! Our crew take an immense amount of pride in their jobs and put tremendous effort into maintaining Manitou, as well as serving the sailing public. This service includes direct and intimate one-on-one interaction with passengers, and talking... More

is that this was not a good choice for an anniversary stay. I loved sleeping on the ship and the crew was so much fun at breakfast. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and watching the crew cook was entertaining. We loved their company. But these are single bunk beds...ouch. My husband was less than pleased. I think he kind... This tour with Tall Ship was a wonderful experience for both me and my family. We originally went to Leland to take boat tour, only found that their charters operate only on certain dates of the week. Then we found this pamphlet in hotel and made the reservation with Tall Ship. The trip wasn't exciting when we were waiting in... More

We went on the tall ship Malabar and sailed the west bay of Grand traverse bay. The crew was entertaining and encouraged our participation whether it was hauling lines or singing maritime tunes! Remember to bring your camera and that it is usually a little cooler on the water and under sail! More

My husband and I once again took a 4-day Windjammer Cruise on the Schooner Manitou. The sailing was great! We had a mix of weather, including sun, rain, and wind. Since we had sailed on the Manitou before, we were prepared with warm and waterproof clothing, an essential for enjoying the trip. Highlights: Wonderful scenery; beautiful boat; cheerful, helpful crew;... More

We were vacationing in TC for the first time in early August. On a whim we decided to book this for our family of four (two girls 9 and 11). None of us had ever been on a tall ship before. We were blown away by our experience! We took the chanty cruise on a weeknight, I think the music... More

We did the micro brew and pizza sail on Sunday night. They featured Shorts Brewery and we were able to try four beers. It was a great time, very relaxing and we learned a little about their beers too. More

Originally scheduled on the afternoon Moomer's ice cream cruise, but we were rained out. We were rescheduled on the sunset cruise, but still received the ice cream samples plus the regular boxed dinner. Kids, 10 and 7, both took extended turns piloting the ship. Overall, a great experience, would recommend it to families or anyone wanting to sail under wind... More

The Manitou was a great experience- the crew is terrific and really knowledgable and everyone loved the trip. My only advice to add to the other reviews is that the evening cruise (6:30 to 8:30) really seemed to be more "adult" oriented- meaning it was pretty much a booze cruise. Our kids did not notice and we did not mind,... More

The whole experience was fantastic. The captain and the crew were wonderful, they made us feel at home immediately. Riding that ship under full sails is an experience we will remember forever. Thank you. Mary and Jim More
