The Little Traverse Wheelway is what I would call a perfect ride. Mostly level or easy grade, stunning scenery, a variety of types of views, and some good places to stop for picnics, ice cream, and parks and even a history museum.

Ride miles...mostly flat. Beginner to serious. Kids are fine-wear your helmet : ) Mostly secluded and away from traffic. Just do it!
I live right next to a beautiful bike trail....Dodge Park in Sterling Heights, Mi, I admit I'm spoiled. The Little Traverse Wheelway has got to be what the bike trails in Heaven are like! The views are so breathtaking they are hard to absorb. At times I would just stop and stand to soak it in to remember on a...

Lovely view, nicely maintained (even passed a person operating a leaf blower in the fall), you can take it all the way to Charlevoix or beyond if you want to.

Safe, scenic, wonderful bike path - ride as little, or ride as much as you like...spans from Charlevoix area to Harbor Springs area, passing through Petoskey and Bay View. I think the most scenic portion is Petoskey to Charlevoix.
Great pathway for riding. I took my bike up the trail several miles north. It winds in and out of the woods and part of the trail is along a major roadway but for the most part it was very enjoyable and had several nice views of the bay.

The path is smooth...

to have the most beautiful bike trails anywhere. I just wish they had lockers to keep my bike so I wouldn't have to schlep it back and forth
Just beautiful! We should have been a little more prepare. When riding our bikes from Petoskey to Charlevoix (14 miles) we did not pack enough snacks. There is really no place to purchase snacks to "refuel" until you get inot Charlevoix.
