This is not for everyone. The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is a beautiful remote area along the northernmost edge of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, bordering Lake Superior. I have been told that it’s the oldest mountain range in the U.S. We hiked in the fall and it was beautiful. The leaves were at their prime, the sky was blue, and... More

The beauty of this area can't be described with words. Every person should visit here. The hiking trails are very well marked, be prepared for walking. The air is so clean, way different than a city. All ages can enjoy this area.

Great park with TONS of hiking trails. It was absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to go back. Check out the water falls - the hikes to and from are fantastic.

No where, anywhere in all our research before and during our spring trip, did I see anything about the Lake of the Clouds Road being closed for the winter. We arrived on Sunday May 12 to find a closed road to Lake of the Clouds. Lesson learned was to never expect anything as far as the State of MI is... More

Don't tell anyone. Let's keep this a secret so it's not overrun with tourists! Actually, this is not for everyone. Make sure you research well and reserve a spot that suits you. We stayed in 2 of the yurts during the first week of April. Travel was a bit slushy at times but ti could have been mud! Some of... More

This is as close to a religion experience as you could get. It was found my accident and i will never forget it. You drive up this beautiful mountain range almost to the clouds. When you arrive a the top and look down there is a beautiful pure lake. Amazing.

This area is a must see, especially if you like hiking, woods, and spectacular waterfalls. The series of waterfalls at the western edge of the park on the Presque Isle River are memorable. Bring a camera.

This state park is very beautiful the camp ground is a little smashed with not much trees to seperate camp spots but the overall experience here is great. My finance and I went back in July 2011 we went to Munising first to see the National lakeshore and then continued down the road to this amazing state park and we... More

Trails to hike down to the lake or drive to park near over look for scenic spectacular views. Abundant wildlife - we've been there in the summer and the fall for color tour.
