It was our first time hiking this with snow. It was wonderful and the view breathtaking. You can see so much more without all the vegetation of summer
If you want to have a nice little hike and see the views then this is a nice hike. It's dog friendly as well. The trail is pretty easy but has a lot of wooden steps to climb. At the top are wooden decks/platforms with seating to enjoy the view. I'd say if you are in good shape and walking...

Great Hike to see the fall leaves. The paths are easy to navigate. The view is beautiful. This is something families can do for free! From school age children to grandparents.
This is a fun hike which rewards us at the top with an awesome view of the Marquette area. There is an option of an easy or harder trail but both are enjoyable to do and I'm no spring chicken and about 50 lbs overweight.
If you find yourself in Marquette, MI you should take some time to hike up Sugarloaf Mountain. You begin with an enjoyable walk through beautiful forest with a moderate climb up steps, then end with a spectacular view of Lake Superior at the top. Well worth your time and energy.
If you're in the Marquette/Big Bay area, climbing Sugarloaf is a must! It's a climb but the stairs help and it's well worth the hike up.
A short drive out of town .......an uphill climb that is of moderate difficulty and takes about 15 or so minutes......then a breathtaking view of Lake Superior.....very worthwhile
the hike up takes a little bit out of you but the trail's not too demanding & the views are worth it. If you can get up here in the fall, do it!
