Short hike to the log slide area. Did not go down it. I still remember going to the bottom and back up when I was a kid and it was a blast but think it would be much rougher getting back up the sandy hill at my current age. Great views of lake superior from the top. More

Believe the signs that warn the "infirm, pregnant, or those of ill health" not to try to scale the dune. Sure, looks fun running down the huge hill. Hiking up will kill you - even in good shape. This is a must see site, very easy to get to. Some sand along the trail near the top. If you go to the Au Sable Light House, look towards the sand dunes and see the area of the Log Slide. Amazing. More
