I love old pottery and this place has a history of producing wonderful art deco pottery. They continue to produce wonderful pieces, tile, etc. I visited on a day when they were not actually firing pottery, but it was still a very cool place to visit.

Pewabic is a very short and very scenic drive along the riverfront. Not only does the shop carry all of their house-made pottery but they carry the works of several other potters as well. BEAUTIFUL Pottery, worth a visit just to see how they do it. Get a tour if you can. They also have classes. Check out their tiles on Comerica Park, they are beautiful.
