The shoreline is close, which surprised me. It's great place to sit on a bench and watch the tide roll in.

Growing up here and heading to the Inkwell is the highlight of a visit to MV. Our family has a bench there so it is even more special. Old friends are found and new friends made every time.

Another great beach that is walking distance from the Madison Inn and Circuit Ave! Clean, fun, family-centered. Bringing your snacks and drinks is a must as the vibe is really good here!!

But it's the Inkwell. It's walking distance to Circuit Ave and where everybody goes. South Beach is beautiful, but the Inkwell is where everybody meets up and hangs.

Nice beach. It seemed all beaches lacked creature comforts such as bathrooms and showers.

Going to the Inkwell Beach was one of the main things I HAD to do on the island! A great historical experience to me because of how it came into being and where middle and upper class black people long ago gathered there peacefully during one of our hardest times during the 19th century to enjoy family time along the... Not well maintained. There was trash among the sand. Rocky bottom. It is easy to get to. It is right by the bus stop for Oak Bluffs.

We love this beach! The water is usually calm and the water always seems to be warmer then most beaches. Within walking distance of center of Oak Bluffs so convenient as well.
