I've been going to Mass Moca for over 10 years and bringing my kids with me. The art is mostly representational or installations, and it's very accessible for kids. There's often whimsy in it (a sculpture made from thousands of action figures), and almost always something bold. This also isn't a hushed-gallery space. Noise echoes around the old factory buildings,... More

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Mass MoCA, and were overall pleased with the experience. Although some of the art might not have been our cup of tea, the exhibits change continuously, so I would certainly be happy to go back and see different installations. THE BUILDINGS: The museum is housed in an old industrial campus... More

I have fallen in love with the MassMoCA, but plan on spending at least a 3 hours to cover all of the spacious galleries and installations! There are old buildings and factory spaces to climb and get lost in so dress comfortably for the heat if you're going in the summer! More

This attraction isn't really "average" as I've graded it, because there's nothing like it anywhere that I've ever seen. The adaptation of the industrial buildings to house artwork is brilliant, but I would have chosen different pieces for my museum. And considering the long drive to get to it from almost anywhere, the amount of art on hand is rather... More

Even if Contemporary Art is not your cup of tea, you should make a visit to this interesting museum. The use of these old manufacturing buildings is worth a look -- such beautiful spaces for exhibits of all kinds. And the Sol Levitt exhibit is worth the admission all by itself! More

Not being an art major I apparently didn't have the educational background to be able to have fully comprehended all the intellectual constructs and ideas in play of many of the exhibited pieces of art. I found some of the installations visually appealing and others left me scratching my head until it bled (artistic license ). On the other hand,... More

Wow, what a disappointment! The exhibits were "contemporary" and ugly and those terms are not always synonymous. I have a BA in Art History and taught Contemporary Art on a college level so I can appreciate meaningful contemporary art. The exhibits at MassMOCA were junk and pretty contrived junk at that. Not worth the trip from anywhere. More

Wonderfull museum, with a fresh and contemporay feel througout. This old factory has more than enough room to show some BIG pieces of art and does so in an intelligent and exciting way. More
