Good birding, scenery, hiking, fiddleheads. Always search there for early spring wildflowers, as I love to photograph them.

This is by far the worst place i have ever been in the US. The attractions look nothing like the pictures/pamphlets. The people are the rudest i have ever encountered. I almost was in fist fight on three seperate occasions. Awful local accomidations i.e. Hotels. And to top it off i saw two seperate groups of "kids" smoking pot in...

One of the two best state parks I like in the area that has full facilities It's location may be a little tricky to get to. Off of Walker Street in Lenox toward the town of Lenoxdale.
Great place to visit to walk along miles and miles of pathes and roads that criss cross the mountain. Have been there many times. All kinds of wildlife there also.

The occasional motorcycle group roaring past...Otherwise, it's a lovely, very family friendly place. You cannot beat the price!
small campground with 50 or so sites, quiet, rangers are friendly and on top of everything, but leave you alone till a couple warnings at quiet hour. Very clean bathrooms. Great spot to camp with kids or couples (we did both), especially for Tanglewood concerts 10 minutes away. It's always sold out for 4th of July week but still doesn't...

Note: new for 2012, even "street" plated motorcycles ALSO need an "ATV" sticker, which is not from the DMV (RMV in MA) but from the DEP (same place you register boats and snowmobiles). The trails are very rocky ("Rocktober Mountain") and most are NOT for beginners.
The campground is pretty...
