The 7 Seas Whale Watch company is excellent! The boat is clean and comfortable and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. We saw several whales who were feeding. They were super cooperative but at one point two of them came very close and gave us an 'up close and personal' viewing. The excitement of seeing a 'blow' cannot be minimized. A... More

It was a beautiful May afternoon, no clouds fabulous sun shine, but a biting cold wind. The boat had I think they said 120 people on board, but there was bags of room, unlike the boat we saw which had come out of Boston, and looked full to the brim! On our trip out the really fabulous guide told us... More

We were staying in Salem, MA but I definitely wanted to go on a whale watching trip. I tried calling a few places with no luck. Seven Seas was wonderful and not far away. It was May 2012 and they told us that other boats were cancelling their tours but they would guarantee we were going to see whales but... More

Hi CJGo, Thanks you so much for writing about the great time you had whale watching with us. I wanted to respond to this part of your post: "It was May 2012 and they told us that other boats were cancelling their tours but they would guarantee we were going to see whales but it would be a long ride.... This company is extremely professional, with tours given by actual marine scientists who are very knowledgeable and personal. The boat is very comfortable. It was May 2012, and not quite a high season for whale watching, but we saw whales EVERYWHERE when we got to the spot (which too more than an hour an half each way, so prepare to... More

Thank you for the great review. Yes, May is early in our whale watching season and it can be a little chilly out on the water. At that time of year, even when the air temperature is nice and warm, the water temperature is still quite cold so you can expect temperatures to be 10-15 degrees cooler on the ocean.... More

First of all, the quality of the boats that 7 seas has are much superior to any of the others that I saw! The staff is wonderful, helpful and gives a wonderful narrative of everything that you will see on your tour. We were told that they can't guarantee that we would see anything, and I have to say that... More

Hi Ronsgal, Thank you for the great review and I am glad your trip was a good one. It sounds like it started slow and kept getting better... I love it when trip choreography works out like that! I just wanted to clear up one thing for anyone who might read this review: We DO guarantee sightings! Well, to be... More

My family and I went on the whale watching trip in early June. For some reason the whales were further out from Gloucester than normal and we had a longer trip to arrive where they were feeding. We stayed below deck because of the cool weather and were very comfortable. When we arrived where the whales were feeding the captain... More

Thank you for the great review! Yes, it can be a bit chilly out on the water. Generally we tell people to plan on it being 10-15 degrees (Fahrenheit, of course) cooler on the water than on land. Early June can still be cool on the ocean, but by the end of June (and especially through July and August) you... More

Going on this whale watching trip was the highlight of our Northeast weekend. I wasn't sure that I could get my mom and sisters out on a boat to go whale watching, but I decided to purchase tickets in advance and hope that they would go. Was I ever glad I purchased in advance as the trip was sold out... More

I don't know what was better-being yards away from the humpback whales or listening to the highly knowledgeable naturalist narrate the trip!?! Everyone at 7 Seas was so friendly and professional! We saw 10 different whales (for extended periods of time each) and had a smooth sail out to sea and back. I would definitely stop in Gloucester to go... More

Thank you for writing a good review of your trip with us and especially for complimenting our crew. While we can't control what the whales do on any given trip, we CAN control the quality of customer service we give to our passengers. We work hard to be the best crew in the business. It all starts with a smile... More

Fantastic trip out to spot whales. We were very lucky and got close to eleven whales. The talk given by the resident crew was fascinating. It was a cold day but warm in the cabin where we could get a coffee. Good value.

We saw so many whales. Humpbacks, multiple times, and a bunch of Minki whales, not just breaching, but jumping completely out of the water, about a dozen times. My 2 cents: Drinks and food on board are expensive. Bring your own!

Breaching is always fun to see! We don't see it every trip though so count yourself as amongst the lucky ones! More
