Eastern Point Lighthouse is worth it to check out!!! Too gorgeous. It was perfect day for us to visit there because of the weather was great- no windy. We walked across from the lighthouse on big rocks toward the end & enjoyed our views. We stayed there for one good hour. The way to get to the lighthouse was a... More

The Dog Bar breakwater stretches out its protective arm across Gloucester Harbor and provides a viewing spot/fishing spot. The view is south to Beverly, Salem, Boston and beyond. On a clear day, you can see quite far. The walk out is a bit challenging for those with balance issues (small children, older folks). The waves can be unpredictable on stormy... More

We went out to the light house on a cold February day. Would have loved to walk up on the breakwater but it was soooooo windy and freezing! Great views back toward Gloucester and the Hammond Castle. Will have to go back in the summer!!

Once you find this spot it is a terrific place to walk and sit on the rocks, experience the sea and harbor.

Although we couldn't get to the lighthouse because it is a private residence, the walk around the lighthouse and onto the Dog Bar Breakwater was amazing! It is really neat to go out that far into the water and get a look at the scenery. The drive to the lighthouse was also stunning and I am glad that we read... More

Because of the unfriendly people living close to the lighthouse we were put off going to the end of the road. The notices are a deterrent but we learnt afterwards that one can ignore them. We were only in the area for a short period and so missed the opportunity to see this sight. A very disappointing experience of the... More

This lighthouse is at the end of Eastern Point Road. Just go through the pillars that say residents only. (it is public access to the lighthouse and Beauport Museum) Park and walk out along the breakwater to the end. It is a rocky path and you will have to watch your step. You many run into people fishing along the... More

Amazing drive along Glosta's Eastern Point...worth it just to "look" at the homes along the way. Walk along the breakwater and enjoy the view. Great place to view the "Mayor Cup Race"!

If possible, go early on a weekday morning. The parking lot is tiny and fills up early with fishers. Also, ignore the signs the local wealthy have in place saying it is a private road. It is not, and that advice to us came from the friendly folks in the Gloucester visitors center in Stage Fort Park.
