Maintained by the Trustees of the Reservation, MA's primary manager of land held in conservation. Great way to spend a couple of relaxed hours sitting on a shaded bench hearing the frogs in the pond, or the water trickling in the small stream. Hundreds of species of trees and plants. Great to go by one's self, or to walk with... More

This is a wonderful oriental garden on Chappaquiddick Island - very peaceful. The grounds are beautifully kept and we stayed for quite awhile. Don't miss it!

a pretty japanese garden, but nothing special - perhaps it's unusual for New England, but really isn't much.

A peaceful paradise and it's free. You can go to Cape Poge Beach before or after your visit to Mytoi

The garden is arranged with several meditation spots. Very peaceful but not really in keeping with a real Japanese garden. Nice to see as part of a trip to Chappoquiddick.

Nice Garden. Very Peaceful. Relaxing. The volunteer staff are very friendly. Easy walk in and about around 15 minutes or so unless you stop and relax but a very easy trail. NO dogs allowed on path.

This is a pretty garden on Chappy. Really the only notable thing to do on Chappy. If you are on Chappy I would recommend going to the gardens, but would not make a trip specifically just to go here. Remember to take bug spray when you do go as you will need it.

Mytoi was somewhat of a disappointment as the trees were not labeled, and it was not as attractive as other Japanese gardens that I have visited. The saving grace was the staff person pruning in the garden who graciously answered all of our questions.

Chappaquiddick Island is located adjacent to Martha's Vineyard island, but only a short (1 minute) ferry trip away. The ferry can be accessed either by foot, bicycle or car. However, if you wish to explore past the beach at the ferry port, a car or bicycle is definitely needed. One of the highlights of exploring this secluded island is seeing... More

While visiting MV for the weekend, we were advised to see the Japanese gardens. We rented bikes, took the Chappy Ferry and biked the mile over a paved then sandy road to the Mytoi gardens. What a disappointment! The gardens need some help and my suggestion: pass on the gardens and take the 90 minute tour of Chappy and go... More
