Long Pasture Sanctuary is a great place for adult and kids to hike. The trails are easy but varied. It passes a small pond, holly trees and farm animals. One has to search to find the almost too-unobstrusive Audubon sign alongside route 6A, but drive slowly, and it's worth the pause. This is one of the smaller sanctuaries in the Massachusetts' collection, but one of the loveliest, located in the midst of seacoast, with an astounding view and access to Barnstable Harbor, and pasture lands. wanted to go kayaking but the wind was just too strong. Long Pasture was my backup plan for the day. For a 4 dollar admission I spent the entire afternoon following the self guided trails.
