Neither of us is a seafarer, so our visit was a nod to the culture of the area. We began in the gift shop, which is well stocked with some interesting ship-related items. As we began our tour, we were glad for nice weather because visiting this multi-building site in the rain would not have been pleasant. The map given...

Thank you for your recent visit and review of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. We agree, more signage could be incorporated in the living exhibit which we know as the boatshop and boatyard. Interpretive signage is normally around each of our boats, including the buyboat Mister Jim, but the recent bulkhead and decking construction around the lighthouse and Navy Point...

This museum is unique in that much of it is outdoors with very nice displays that illustrate the historical development of Chesapeake Bay life and work. We spent several hours enjoying it and would definitely recommend it.

We are Museum members but hadn't been in a long time. Some nice new exhibits. Missed the old oyster depletion display. Light house is having constructions work done around it so we couldn't go up. Wish the Waterfowl display wasn't mostly about hunting.

I feel as though we didn't even scratch the surface of all there is to see at this unique museum, but we liked what we saw. We saw equal numbers of kids and adults, and the museum caters to all ages. There was never a wait for any of the exhibits, because the museum is so spread out. Highly recommended.

St. Michael's and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is one of our regular stops when out of town guests arrive. Also, visit once a year just to appreciate the information and the history.
